Things to do: Stomp Out Sickle Cell Walk

Just received the following about a walk this weekend, please see below...

We've started the countdown before the Stomp Out Sickle Cell Walk, which will be on Saturday, September 17! We look forward to seeing you if you've already registered. If not, please REGISTER NOW! Online registration will end on Thursday, September 15 at 11:59 PM. We strongly encourage online registration, although onsite registration will be available.

Remember, the SOS Walk/Run will take place on September 17, 8 AM at Freedom Plaza in downtown DC, near the White House. We will walk down famous Pennsylvania Ave in a certified 5K route which will return us to the Plaza to end. We'll have entertainment, prizes, and information tables at Freedom Plaza, along with a blood drive hosted by Children's National Medical Center and registration for organ and bone marrow donation.

Please come out and make your voice heard! Join us as we walk on this historic and well-visited corridor to raise awareness of sickle cell disease and our need for a cure.

All of the details are at www.soswalk.org. Register for $20 per person, and ask others to make a donation. You also have the opportunity to sponsor a walker and memorialize your loved ones on a custom-made sign (deadline Wednesday, Sept 15).
